What We Do

To ensure the health and safety of all children in Massachusetts, the Molly bish Institute for Child Health and Safety provides hands-on practical learning opportunities for parents, caregivers and children, and provides a clearnhouse of information on child health and safety.

In their quest to keep other children from suffering similar fates as their daughter, John and Magi Bish work tirelessly to prevent families from losing children to severe illnesses, accidents and safety issues. Building on the work that the Bishes have done, Mount Wachusett Community College has established the Molly Bish Institute, intended to help raise awareness on a wide variety of health and safety topics.

Health and Safety Resources and Events

Resource Library

The Molly Bish Institute's resource library contains dozens of books by leading experts on topics such as safety, health, nutrition, parenting and child development, as well as a variety of books for young readers. The library also provides information about the many regional, state and national organizations and agencies that support children's health and safety.

Kid Expo

Since 2004, MWCC brings Kid Expo to thousands of families through events held at MWCC's Gardner campus, at HealthAlliance Hospital Leominster Campus and at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. The free events provide hands-on activities and demonstrations, including the distribution of the Molly Bish Foundation child safety I.D. kits, self-defense demonstrations, a health and safety resource fair, search and rescue demonstrations, fire prevention demonstrations, distribution of free bicycle helmets, raffles, entertainment and more.

Lectures & Demonstrations

The Molly Bish Institute relays aid to communities and organizations by sponsoring talks on Internet safety and other health and safety topics. Through the MWCC campus police, the Institute also brings r.a.d.KIDS (a program designed to empower children to defend themselves in the event of an attempted abduction) demonstrations to local communities.

The Molly Bish Institute is committed to community education and outreach to ensure the health and safety of all children in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
